For example, take teachers … and forgive me if you are a teacher … but generally they tend NOT to be too hot financially.
When was the last time you saw a wealthy school teacher pulling up in his/her £100,000 car for instance? Or driving back to their £1,000,000 mansion after they’ve taught you? Or not turning up at school for a couple of months because they’ve gone to explore the Indian Ocean islands of the Seychelles and the Maldives?
Doesn’t happen does it! A good illustration are the people who taught me when I did a diploma in Business Studies. I discovered later that most people who teach business are in fact either FAILED business people or professional teachers with little or no business experience.
You see individuals who teach business studies, or economics … business advisors from banks … even bank managers themselves … simply have not had any success in business themselves. Which begs the question – why do people look to them for advice?
For instance, recently a student of mine emailed me to say that he had been given advice by his small business manager at the Bank NOT to start his information product business.
Advice? Jeez … there ought to be a law against it…
Here’s an ‘adviser’ who has NEVER operated a business himself … NEVER earned millions a year … will NEVER be financially free.
So how the hell can he give business advice?
Now if you wanted to know how to lead a life of mediocrity … to live in a semi on a housing estate with 2.5 kids a 2 week holiday in the summer and a company car … well then he’s your man. He can tell you exactly how to reach such levels.
I remember my own bank manager used to offer me the same kind of ‘advice’ too. Actually it used to make me laugh. Of course, in his presence I used to smile kindly and thank him … however, like most entrepreneurs I would then completely IGNORE his ‘advice’ when I walked out the door.
The result? I became a Multi-Millionaire while he … well, he’s still dishing out advice.
It’s the same with teachers…
We grow up being taught that we should get good grades … go on to take further education, maybe University … get some qualifications … get a good job.
We then should follow our career path upwards, working for a living. Then retire at 65.
And then of course we either die soon afterwards or collect our miserable pension … well that’s if there’s any money left for us when we’re 65 … and with the way things are going, it doesn’t look good. Indeed you are likely to have to work until you’re 70 at least now if you don’t make a change in your life … and quickly!
What an existence … what a way to spend your one and only time here on earth!
Yet the majority of the population live that way every day. I used to myself.
We are like the fleas in the jar. And when we take away the lid we are programmed to remain trapped … though we could easily escape, we stay as we are.
We have conditioned ourselves NOT to aspire to greater heights.
Our brain cannot cope with the thought that in our world there is an almost limitless height to ‘jump’ to.
The only fact is that you simply CAN NOT reach a height higher than you ‘think’ you can … no higher than you have ‘conditioned’ yourself to jump.
It has nothing to do with reality remember…
Think about your own life. Imagine if you could take your current income and jump it up to £1,000,000 A YEAR!
That’s around £84,000 PER MONTH!
Impossible? Maybe even now you’re looking at that and thinking that £84,000 a month sounds great, you can even imagine it, but you probably don’t really BELIEVE you’ll ever earn £84,000 a month. And therein lies your problem.
For the only certainty is … if you ‘think’ you can’t earn this … if you ‘think’ its not going to happen. It just won’t!
You just aren’t going to get what you don’t GENUINELY BELIEVE you’ll get…
Look at me. Not long ago I was just a salaried employee. Go back further and I was living in a caravan as a child. But I refused to believe that everything I dreamed of wouldn’t happen.
I didn’t put a lid on how high I could jump. Indeed, I really believed that I’d have all the money I do today … that’s not just wishing it, or dreaming about it, that’s REALLY believing it was going to happen.
The result is that I have earned far, far, far more than £1,000,000 … in fact, to date I’ve banked over £30,000,000.
Yet if I had thought that I was no more than a salaried employee all those years back, to this day that is EXACTLY what I would be.
I would have NO Million Pound house … I would have NONE of my other properties … I would NOT have £1,000,000+ investments … I would NOT be driving around in a £125,000 Bentley … I would NOT be able to travel and holiday first class whenever I wanted.
Instead, I’d be working 9-5 and looking forward to my 2 week package deal trip to Majorca every year.
The only reason that I’m not … the only reason I earn well over One Million Pounds a Year and am not still a 9 to 5 wage slave…
Is primarily because of the way I ‘THINK’ … absolutely nothing else. When I looked upwards 7 or so years ago I decided that my possible wealth ‘limit’ stretched out into the atmosphere.
I NEVER saw any figure as being too high.
And you know it isn’t. For example, a Million Pound a year income may sound fantastically huge to you. But when you enjoy that kind of income, really it doesn’t feel special whatsoever.
In fact, if suddenly it was to drop to say £500,000 a year income … that would seem like a failure. Once again, none of this has anything to do with reality. One Million Pounds a year is not special … as £1/2 Million Pound a year is no failure.
Its just our expectations and thoughts which influence how we feel about any situation which makes the difference…
So from today … as we start a module which will hopefully see you launching your online cash-on-demand business this month … I want you to do something for me.
Please, please, please take a look UPWARDS and TAKE OFF the mental ‘lid’ that has been put above you.
Refuse to be programmed NOT to leap high any longer. Refuse to remain in an imagined prison.
If you just remove the lid … forget about false ceilings and your programming … and instead set off on the adventure that this business can be … there is a whole different world out there for you to enjoy which I can promise you, you have no idea about yet.
