In 2005 marketing guru Andrew Reynolds announced the first Andrew Reynolds Cash On Demand Bootcamp event would be held at the Wembley Conference Centre. The event was sold out completely in only 48 hours, filling every seat of the 2,500 seat venue. This first fundraising Andrew Reynolds Cash On Demand Bootcamp event raised over £300,000 for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSHCC).
Andrew had learnt of the children’s charity plea for funding to support a much needed new multi-bed treatment room in the new Octav Botnar wing of the hospital as part of a £150million redevelopment of the hospitals facilities for the 21st century.
He decided to organise the Andrew Reynolds Cash On Demand Bootcamp and donate 100% of the ticket proceeds directly to the charity. Mr Reynolds invited 10 of the top marketing entrepreneurs from around the world, and flew them into London from as far as the USA and Australia. All the speakers gave their time and expertise at no charge during the event to the 2,500 attendees at the event and their generous support ensured the success of the Andrew Reynolds Cash On Demand Bootcamp Event as a fundraising event for years to come.
At the 2005 Andrew Reynolds Cash On Demand Bootcamp event, Tim Johnson, Deputy Director Redevelopment Appeal at GOSHCC, was presented with a cheque from Andrew Reynolds for £325,176 and praised the efforts of the entrepreneurs, students of Andrew Reynolds Cash On Demand system, who attended and Andrew who all helped raise the enormous sum.
The May 2007 following the success of the 2005 event, and again with a pledge by Andrew Reynolds to donate 100% of the ticket proceeds to charity another Andrew Reynolds Cash On Demand Bootcamp Event was staged this time at The Bournemouth International Centre. This event saw over 3500 of Andrew Reynolds Cash On Demand students attend and raised a further £400,000 towards a new Cardiac Ward at The Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Matt Forrest, Head of Community Fundraising for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity received the cheque for £400,365 on stage, and commented during an address to the event crowd from the stage, “This moves mountains, this sort of money. We need to raise at Great Ormond Street children’s Hospital over £50Million every single year. The reason we need to do that is because we are a specialist hospital.”
In total these two Andrew Reynolds Cash On Demand Bootcamp Events organised by Andrew Reynolds had raised nearly £750,000 for Great Ormond Street children’s Hospital, with all the money going directly into the funding much needed resources. The Cardiac wing that the 2007 ticket proceeds helped fund is due to be finished at the end of 2011 and Andrew Reynolds has been invited to the grand opening of the ward in Spring 2012.
Andrew Reynolds said, ‘It has been a great pleasure to raise and donate funds to such an important and worthwhile charity as GOSHCC. Both during and after both the events I received many emails from our Andrew Reynolds Cash On Demand course students who attended the event, several of whom had personal experience of the Hospital. One student told how the hospital removed a huge tumour the size of a rugby ball from his daughter’s abdomen last year. Another told of how both his son and daughter had received operations at the hospital, whilst one mother told of how her now bubbly 12 year old daughter at just one day old, was rushed to the hospital and was successfully nursed back to health for over a year by the GOSH team. We are therefore delighted to donate the entire ticket sales proceeds from the Andrew Reynolds Cash On Demand Bootcamps to this pioneering hospital and we look forward to continuing to work closely with the GOSH team in the future.’
