PRINCES TRUST

Andrew Reynolds and The Princes Trust

In 2005 Andrew Reynolds was made a patron of the Prince’s Trust. The role of patrons within the Princes Trust is to provide a vital source of income the Trust needs so it can respond quickly and innovatively to the needs of the many tens of thousands of disadvantaged young people it aims to help.

The Princes Trusts business support program supports over 4,000 young people each year to realise their dreams of starting their own business and working for themselves. It was because of this that Andrew felt so passionate about the work of this charity. Andrew strongly believes in the need for mentoring for young people who need help to turn their lives around.

Andrew donated the sum of £100,000 to the Princes Trust and continues to support the Trust by attending fund raising events, often bringing as his guests other successful entrepreneurs who also contribute to the Trusts fundraising activities.

In 2006 Andrew Reynolds attended a Gala Dinner with His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Prince’s Trust – by special invitation.

The work The Princes Trust do mentoring and assisting disadvantaged young people also inspired Andrew to become involved in a number of specific projects that aimed to help develop young people. The ‘Make Your Mark with a Tenner’ project and the ‘Black Belt Scholarship Programme’ both worked with youth organisations who worked directly with young people to mentor and develop them. Andrew continues to fund both these projects and is committed to always supporting any project that directly assists young people who are disadvantaged.

Andrew commented on his role as a Patron of the Princes Trust,’ I have always wanted to be involved in something that directly helps young people who may have gone off the rails and need some guidance to get them back on the right track. The Princes Trust is a fantastic organisation and I was honoured to be accepted as a Patron.’
